The Thought That Made Me FEARLESS

तूज तारो यंत्र थई जा
तूज तारो तंत्र थई जा
अन्य नो आधार छोड़ी
सर्व-तंत्र स्वतंत्र थई जा

Once I had read this somewhere in the book of yantra. It makes my belief stronger in what I am.....gives huge amount of confidence to trust myself.....courage to laugh when adversities knock my door and convert them into opportunities.....

The worst has happened and the best has just begun...!!!

In Support of SRK...!!!

With all this, that is happening, I personally feel that SRK hasn't said anything wrong about the pakistani players for IPL. Though I am not a fan of his acting skills, but I do admire him as a self made man & a time tested machine. It is a game and let it be played in its true spirit away from the diplomatic and political differences.

I believe exchange programmes in the field of Sports, Music, Arts & Culture; will play a key role in mellowing down the tension at the borders. All of us who believe...in the sport....in achieving peace and harmony between we nations, I think should support SRK for voicing the opinion.

Its been 60 years now. We as a nation have also taken extreme decisions against pakistan in the past when it was needed. But it dosent mean that the situation should always be the same.
I AM AN INDIAN...
I HAVE PASSION FOR CRICKET...
I LOVE INDIAN CINEMA...&
MY BEST FRIEND IS A MUSLIM...

I will go and audience the IPL matches...& I will also go out to watch My Name Is Khan..!!!

Master Architects...or...Saints in Architecture

I do wonder sometimes when thinking about certain few architects like Le Corb, L-I-K, Charles Correa, Mies VanDer Rohe, FLLW, B.V. Doshi & Tado Ando. Their architecture is that of universal intelligence. What is it that makes them and their architecture so very versatile...??

Corb hardly knew, his designed rear facade of the Chandigarh High Court was similar to that of the Diwan E Aam of Fatehpur Sikri. Also to my knowledge there is no court in India which has a sheltered sit out for people awaiting justice. In our country, people do spend their life in and around the court rooms, but hardly have a place to sit and wait for their number to be called out. Corb did bring this to our notice by his design. Its said that he refused to shake hands with a high court judge saying that " you all do not dispose true justice". His designs question the credibility of the system for which he has designed.

No buildings designed by any architect to the best of my knowledge can match the understanding of L-I-K about natural light. He, i feel, could talk to Sun. Be it the Kimbell Art Museum or IIM-A'bad or any other building of his, one feels whether the structure is in light or light in structures.

Talking about Charles Correa, people in the architecture fraternity do compare his works to that of Ricardo Legretta and Louis Barggan. But i suppose he was one of those pioneer architects of independent India to bring the traditional indian concepts and philosophies of building design into practice. From courtyards to barsaatis, he has brought to notice about the various functional elements associated with the traditional indian architecture. His study of human psychology and indian behaviour implemented in his buildings make people connected to his designs.

Also works of Mies VanDer Rohe, FLLW, B.V. Doshi & Tado Ando cannot be compared. A lot can be spoken or written about their works. For those who know about them shall understand that this is just the beginning.

I always wonder, all of them, whether they should be called Master Architects or are they Saints in Architecture

B.V.Doshi's architecture for 3 Idiots

It is so genius of the creative team of the movie 3 Idiots to shoot the movie at IIM-B. The architectural works of BV Doshi has provided a beautiful backdrop for the story and its screenplay. Right from the Dormitories--Classrooms--Corridors--Library--Staircase, everything is utilised to its best. The superhit combination of exposed concrete--stone--greens is so very appropriate. Would like to appreciate the makers of the movie for brilliantly utilising the architecture and the hallmark elements of BV Doshi.

Thank you SIR for giving such fantastic structures which will always inspire in some way the other.

My First Love

In the times gone by, i have realised that people may come and go. They may touch your lives as well. Some may decide to walk along with you, some dont.
BUT,
One thing that I believe shall always be with me is
  1. my KNOWLEDGE
  2. my WORK
  3. my ARCHITECTURE
All three of them were, are & shall always be MY FIRST LOVE.
I count on them, I bet on them and I trust them.

Give Way.....Its RAJDHANI..!!!

I was on my way back for mumbai from delhi by Mumbai Rajdhani Express. The train was late by four hours from its scheduled departure time of 16:30 hrs. However it departed from New Delhi Rly Stn at 22.00 hrs.
Usually it takes two hrs for the express to reach 'Mathura', but because of the FOG, it took around seven hrs to reach there. Eventually, the train was late by twelve hrs.
BUT,
The hospitality and management of IRCTC and the staff in the pantry needs to be appreciated. Every small care was taken of the passengers travelling by the express. Due to this delay, they had to provide with an additional lunch & breakfast, which they did and also they maintained the quality of food and beverages that were given to us. The staff was very polite and co-operative in nature which made us rest assured that the inconvenience caused would be taken care of.
I know what I am saying sounds stupid, but to get this comfort and peace of mind from Indian Railways for a journey which is twelve hrs late is commendable.
